Sun Street Limited, the data management technology company, today announced the release of Curium Master Data Management (MDM), the latest component of its evolving data management platform and its fourth major release.

Curium has been continually developed since its launch in 2010. The first releases of Curium were focussed on an effective workflow solution for managing data quality and are well established as the Curium Data Quality Management (DQM) solution. Now with version 4, CuriumMDM delivers a highly scalable data matching and data mastering toolset incorporating new techniques and advanced analysis tools to help financial service firms evolve their data management function.

CuriumMDM benefits from the same meta data modelling functions used in CuriumDQM. Building upon these data models, firms can, where required, match and de duplicate records from multiple data sources where identifier information is of variable population and quality and use the mastering tools to construct master or ‘gold copy’ records from these various sources. Innovative features include the capture of data provenance, i.e. where did this value come from, for every attribute. This is very powerful for onward analysis and downstream data lineage.

Like CuriumDQM, CuriumMDM is targeted at the business process and designed to complement the firm’s existing data architecture and investment so as to minimise implementation cost and upheaval. The combination of CuriumMDM and DQM allows financial service firms to enhance their data governance programmes as well as reducing operational risk attributable to poor quality data.
